Care Leavers Cymru is dedicated to supporting children and young people in care or who have transitioned out of the care system in Wales. We strive to empower them by providing essential resources, guidance, and a community that understands their unique experiences. Our mission is to ensure that every care leaver has the opportunity to thrive, gain independence, and build a successful future. Together, we work towards creating a brighter tomorrow for all children and young people in care or care experienced in Wales.

MISSION
Care Leavers Cymru is dedicated to empowering care-experienced children, young people across Wales.
Our mission is to provide advocacy, resources, trauma-informed and trauma-responsive support to ensure, when the time comes every young person leaving care has the stability, opportunities, and sense of belonging they deserve.
We work to influence policy, improve services, and create meaningful change that reduces the number of care-experienced individuals entering the criminal justice system.
VISION
Our vision is a future where care-experienced children and young people in Wales are not just supported but celebrated, where their voices shape policy, and where they have access to the same opportunities as their peers.
We strive for a society where no young person leaving care feels alone, where services are not only trauma-informed they are trauma-responsive and where care experienced children and young people can thrive, free from stigma and barriers.

What We Do
Consultancy
We work closely with organisations to assess their practices, policies, and environments, helping them become more attuned to the needs of children in care and care leavers. Through our expertise, we guide teams in implementing trauma-informed approaches tailored to their unique challenges.
Training
Our bespoke training programs equip professionals, foster carers, educators, social workers, youth workers, and criminal justice staff, with the skills and understanding needed to support care-experienced young people. Training topics include attachment, trauma, emotional regulation, and strategies for reducing exclusions and building resilience.
